During his employment as the Assistant Coach and Associate Director of Player Personnel for Impact Basketball in Las Vegas, NV, Alex Zara assisted in contacting and scheduling opponents including elite prep teams that included LA Prep and Findlay Prep, as well as numerous junior colleges throughout the west coast. He did his duties while ensuring adherence to all company policies, procedures, and national regulations. In handling the athletes, Mr. Zara ensured safety was maintained during all practices and games. He also willingly assisted with equipment updates/ removal and all aspects of gym maintenance.
Known for his motivational leadership and flawless follow-through, Alex Zara consistently built rapport amongst team members to maximize the experience at Impact Basketball while also adhering to the mission and goals of the program. He also provided leadership and instruction in the personal growth and athletic development of student-athletes on the practice court and courtside during games. To ensure that the players were all supportive of the organization’s vision-mission and overall objective, Alex designed and delivered group advising sessions and workshops for athletes, including the development of individualized academic course plans and the in-depth determination of every student’s basketball, career, and life goals.
Alex Zara carefully observed each athlete’s academic performance, program retention, and opportunities for scholarship. This he did to enable the athletes to have equal opportunities as their non-athlete counterparts in the completion of academic programs that could help down the road towards the achievement of their professional goals in their planned careers. Alex has always aimed for more than just athletic progress in the players. He dedicates efforts to help them develop valuable life skills during play that they can readily apply to real-life situations as needed.
Honest and humble in all his dealings, Alex Zara is a resolute and hard worker whose ultimate goal is to help more individuals excel as athletes and as citizens of the world in general.
